Dr. Herman Tarnower wrote the Scarsdale Diet in the 1970's for overweight patients. The Scarsdale Diet contains 43% protein, 22.5% fat and 34.5% carbohydrates. The diet is low in calories and very strict during the first two weeks. The expected weight loss is 20 pounds in 14 days.
The diet is very low in calories and it is not healthy, or sustainable in the long-term.
