The Sacred Heart Diet is a fad diet that resembles the Cabbage Soup Diet. This diet is based on eating soup, and it claims that you will lose 10-17 pounds in the first week. Most of the weight loss will be water. It is an unsustainable fad diet.
Drinks Allowed are:
- Coffee
- Cranberry juice
- Unsweetened juices
- Skim milk
- Lots of water
Soup Recipe contains 2 green peppers, 3+ large onions, 1 or 2 cans of stewed tomatoes, 1 bunch of celery, 1 large can of beef broth, 1 pkg. Lipton Soup mix (chicken noodle)
Variations of the diet
You can follow the daily plan for two consecutive weeks, and then take the following week off.
MONDAY
No bananas are allowed. Eat all the fresh fruit that you want and eat the soup.
TUESDAY
No corn or beans are allowed. Eat all the fresh vegetables that you want and eat the soup.
WEDNESDAY
Eat all the fruit and vegetables that you want and eat the soup.
THURSDAY
Eat 3 bananas and soup all day. Drink 1 glass of skim milk.
FRIDAY
Eat up to 8 tomatoes, soup and skinless chicken, lean beef and fish that you want.
SATURDAY
Eat soup and all the skinless chicken, lean beef and fish that you want.
SUNDAY
Eat soup and all the brown rice that you want.
Soup Ingredients Consists of: 4 carrots (diced), 4 potatoes (diced), 2 - 11oz. cans of chicken noodle soup, 5 stalks of celery (diced), 1 lb. pack of frozen string beans, ½ green pepper (diced), and 2 onions (diced).
