Ron Rosedale wrote the Rosedale Diet in 2004. It is a high-fat, very low-carb and low-protein diet. The Rosedale Diet is about controlling the hormone leptin, and according to research, this hormone is responsible for controlling hunger.
What do you eat?
There is no need for calorie counting, or carb counting, on this diet. It is a restrictive diet, and starts with a three-week phase, in which all starchy carbohydrates are not allowed. After these first three weeks, other foods are allowed, but only in limited amounts. The Rosedale Diet is all about eating when you are hungry.
Foods to avoid:
- Cantaloupe
- Bananas
- Oranges
- Pineapple
- Watermelon
- White potatoes
- Corn
The book contains an extensive section on supplementation of about 25 pages, and the suggested supplementation plans are very expensive.
