Walter Kempner created the Rice Diet. Kempner analyzed the effect of the diet on diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes, and found that there were hardly any problems for people using rice as a food. He developed a diet of rice, fruit and sugar, plus vitamin and iron supplements to help people.
The Rice Diet is a complete and proven program for improving health. The program consists of workshops for exercise and personal medical supervision.
The daily diet consists of 5 gm or less of fat, approximately 20 gm of protein and not more than 150 mg of sodium. Salt is restricted in the Rice Diet. Limiting salt helps to reduce several health risks, such as high cholesterol and blood pressure.
