Basics of the Egg Diet
The Egg Diet has several versions that are available on the Internet. The most famous version of the diet does not consist of eating only eggs, but it involves getting the majority of your protein from eggs.
This diet is a variation of the Atkins Diet, in which the primary idea is to restrict the intake of carbohydrates. On this diet, you can eat two or more eggs for breakfast along with, low carbohydrate vegetables, grapefruit or lean protein.
Both lunch and dinner contain either eggs or a small amount of lean protein such as, chicken or fish.
Carbohydrate foods such as, pasta, bread and potatoes are very limited. Fruits are limited to one to two servings daily. The dieters can eat salads and low carbohydrate vegetables as they desire.
There is another version of the diet, which is known as the Egg and Grapefruit Diet, and it contains eating one half grapefruit with each meal. The rest of the plan is the same as above.
