The Blood Type Diet is a nutrition plan based on your blood type. Dr. Peter D’Adamo claims, using this diet you will not only lose weight, but it will also assist with allergy and infection resistance, and good health can be achieved.
Blood type Os recommended diet is low in carbohydrates and dairy products, and high in proteins. Foods such as avocados, Brazil nuts and oranges are not allowed. Type Os also have to do a lot of exercise.
Blood Type A should avoid red meat, and eat large amounts of fish and vegetables, with a low dairy intake. Light exercise is recommended.
Blood Type B should avoid chicken and bacon and eat large amounts of meat and dairy, some fish and large amounts of fruit and vegetables.
Blood Type AB combines the A and B diets.
Is This Diet For Real?
The author claims that most of the things in the diet are based on scientific evidence, but perhaps it is too early to make this claim. Two people can have different metabolisms and have the same blood type. One can be sensitive to carbohydrates or sugar while another needs a high carbohydrate diet.
The dieters can experience weight loss on this diet because of healthier food choices, and not due to blood type food combinations. The author recommends people removing processed and refined foods from their diet.
