What is the Bernstein Diet?
The Bernstein Diet program aims for you to lose 4-5 pounds per week, and includes 3 visits to the clinic. The program is based on a combination of a low calorie diet, behavior modification, education, and vitamin and mineral supplements. The daily calorie intake is between 800-1350 calories per day and varies from case to case.
The diet claims that during this speedy weight loss phase only, fat tissue will be lost and muscle, electrolytes and fluids will be retained. The main feature of this diet is vitamin and mineral supplements, which are done by injection.
Dr. Bernstein's Diet consists of a number of phases such as, The Weight Loss phase, The Maintenance phase and the Tune-Up Diet for small amounts of weight loss.
